Shop by comfort

At America's Mattress, we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to buying a mattress - especially when it comes to how a mattress feels. What one person considers "soft", another might consider "hard" (while someone else might think it's "too soft"!). While comfort is subjective, we've tried to help narrow your search by assigning our mattresses a comfort level ranging from 1 (the hardest) to 5 (the softest).

Extra Firm

Extra Firm

Extra firm mattresses have the firmest foams and support materials in their construction. Sleepers tend to sleep "on" extra firm mattresses versus sinking in. If you prefer a solid feel, this may be the mattress for you.

Firm

Firm mattresses have the super-solid surface of an Extra Firm but with a bit of cushion thrown in to soften it up a bit. For comparision purposes, most hotel mattresses are somewhere between a Firm and a Cushion Firm.

Cushion Firm

A Cushion Firm mattress is a good middle-of-the-road option for comfort - a soft initial feeling that doesn't let you sink in too far.

Plush

When you lie down on a plush mattress, softness is definitely the first thing you feel. Good for side and back-sleepers, the softer foams allow you to sink in a little to fully support the curves of your hips and back.

Ultra Plush

If you like a soft mattress, an Ultra Plush may be just what you're looking for. This level of softness is usually found in Pillow Top or Euro Top models. While the support provided by the mattress core may be the same as other comfort levels, the foams are designed to provide a cloud-like feeling when you lie on the mattress.
